INTERIM SENIOR MINISTER

An ecumenical and progressive 2000+ member congregation in Charlotte, NC, with a tradition in historical/liturgical worship and music, is seeking a full-time ordained and experienced Interim Senior Minister. Myers Park Baptist Church is affiliated with the American Baptist Churches USA and the Alliance of Baptists. We are a Welcoming and Affirming church with outstanding educational, music and outreach ministries. Seminary degree and training in the Interim Minister role and responsibilities are required. Essential functions include sermon delivery, leading the congregation through the interim period and leadership change, performing congregational pastoral care and participating in the supervision of church staff. The First Congregational Church of Guilford, CT, UCC, is currently interviewing candidates for the position of Interim Sr Pastor beginning September 1. The pastor of 36 years is retiring in June. This is one of our flagship churches with 1000 members, an average of 300 in worship, a 200 member youth fellowship, a thriving and growing church school and an active and varied outreach ministry. The church has been Open and Affirming since 1997. The interim Sr Pastor will be sharing preaching, pastoral and administrative duties with a strong, experienced associate pastor who was called a year ago.
