First Congregational Church Pasadena, CA, UCC, seeks an Interim
Minister following a co-pastorate of 27 years
We sold our building 7 years ago and are now renting space from the United Methodist Church on the main boulevard. Our ministry focus has moved away from building maintenance toward all-out mission. We support, financially and physically, a variety of non-profits in the greater Pasadena area, as well as organizations doing relief work for survivors of the recent Eaton Fire. And we support the spiritual, physical and mental well-being of our congregation and ministers.
Our hope is to continue offering generous grants and scholarships to organizations and individuals making a difference for people in need, offering community strengthening and inspiring events for members and neighbors, supporting the Conference and National Church in world-wide relief, and deepening our understanding of and love for an inclusive, inspiring and healing G-d.
Our small congregation is blessed to have many members who are generous with their ”time, talent, and treasure.” This is an important part of what allows us to reach for our community goals of spirituality, extravagant welcome, and justice. These core values inform the inner life of our congregation. They provide guidance as we find and make ways to reach out and connect with the communities where we live.
We would appreciate partnership with a trained Interim Minister in designing an accurate profile of our body, added support for
leadership and programs, and offerings of meaningful (even humorous) worship experiences.
Membership: 88 active members, 10 kids, and around 12 regular attendees. Sunday worship usually has 30-60.
2025 Annual Budget: $720,000
Interim Position: Full/Part-time negotiable beginning October 2025 or soon thereafter.
