We have a passion to grow and reach out in love and friendship to the many young families and singles who have made San Leandro their home because of proximity to mass transit and affordable housing in this high expense Bay Area. We recognize that our hope goes against the mainline denomination trajectory but we believe all things are possible with God!
Goals & Pastoral Responsibilities
As the Head of Staff, you will supervise church employees—including program, music, and administrative staff—and provide organizational oversight. Your key goals will include:
- Performing the usual pastor responsibilities- leading worship and preaching, officiating the sacraments, moderating Session, and supporting teams.
- Preparing the congregation for a new designated (term) pastor.
- Partnering with the Deacons to care for the church family.
Terms and Compensation
This is a ½ to full time, 6-9 month contract position to work with our congregation in transition following the retirement of the current transitional pastor. Compensation is competitive, and benefits are negotiable. Date to start: September 2026.
