The Amber Congregational Church in Amber NY is looking for a traditional interim pastor to support the congregation during our search for who the Lord has next as our permanent pastor. We are a small country church that is very healthy with 50-60 regular attendees each Sunday and a membership role of 120+. We operate a debt free budget, supporting a single full-time pastor position. Weekly/monthly activities outside of our Sunday morning worship, include bible studies, Sunday school, congregational gatherings, community luncheons, men’s and woman’s activities, as well as outreach to the local community. The interim Pastor will lead Sunday morning worship, help direct Sunday School (adult class), lead one bible study during the week, provide pastoral care as needed, and will be responsible for the administration of the church during the week (Note: administration is quite simply for our small church). The church building is very quant in a lakeside community dating back to the early 1800s and the church maintains a parsonage very close to the church which is available for use. We are affiliated with the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference (CCCC) and describe ourselves as evangelical with moderate theological stances, but all biblically based. Key attributes of the church are 1) Bible based, 2) Egalitarian, and 3) Community focused. We are seeking someone to join us to help provide stability and continuity during our current season.
