Dedicated and Compassionate Interim Pastor
Christ United Presbyterian Church (CUPC) in San Francisco, California, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Interim Pastor to provide spiritual, pastoral, and administrative leadership during an important season of transition. Guided by our vision of being a spiritually thriving, Christ-centered community and our mission to “Act justly, Love compassionately, Walk humbly with God,” the Interim Pastor will lead worship, preach and teach God’s Word, provide pastoral care, and help the congregation discern God’s direction for the future. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work closely with the Session and congregation to honor the church’s heritage, strengthen its mission, develop leadership, deepen connections, and prepare for new pastoral leadership.
The ideal candidate will be an ordained PC(USA) pastor, or ordained within a Formula of Agreement denomination, with training in transitional ministry and a passion for guiding congregations through change. The Interim Pastor will support a congregational Mission Study, oversee staff and church ministries, foster effective communication, and nurture meaningful relationships within the church and broader community.
