Why I Support IMN Financially:
There are two primary reasons I give to IMN:
- I believe in the IMN mission, have personally and professionally benefited from it, and am happy to have access to such a great network, if/when needed;
- IMN makes it very easy to give as part of the registration process each year.
I give because IMN has been my professional support network and educational center since 1994, remaining so even in my retirement. I give to the curriculum roll-out because every curriculum developed by my colleagues has been better than the last, with attention to new scholarship including critical topics for transitional clergy, and with sensitivity to the needs of different denominations and faiths, and organizations beyond faith communities.
In a day of shrinking financial resources I believe IMN is one group that makes a difference. That is why I have given financial gifts during IMN’s shift to a new, updated curriculum. Faith community leaders know how critical communication is at times when cash-flow is down. That is why I have chosen to support IMN in stronger ways right now.
Why IMN? What is it that makes a difference in the life of a faith community leader? Having a good map! The Interim Ministry Network (IMN) helps me navigate ministry challenges by strengthening my map skills. Which skills? Greater self-awareness; learning to seek out and utilize feedback, especially through coaching and colleague support groups; understanding conceptual frameworks that matter for my ministry. The new IMN modular curriculum brings these skills to you in affordable, digestible bites. I covet an IMN experience for a wider circle when I hear IMN participants describe the difference the training will make moving forward. I so wish I had access to this training earlier in my ministry, not just towards the later years.
As a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, the Interim Ministry Network relies on generous contributions from individuals, Judicatories and congregations, to fund new curriculums, scholarships, and other initiatives.
