UCC REGIONAL STAFF
January 9, 16, 23 – 2:00-6:00 PM Eastern
Registration Deadline January 2, 2025
Congregations are facing a wider array of significant changes and Conference staff are working harder than ever to ensure they have excellent leadership to manage these changes well.
Responding to this awareness, the Council of Conference Ministers (CCM) has engaged the Interim Ministry Network (IMN) to offer its Effective Transitional Leadership (ETL) training, open to all Conference Ministers, Associate Conference Ministers, Regional Ministers, and Association Ministers.
The CCM is grateful to the Association of United Church of Christ Intentional Interim Ministers (AUCCIIM) for its generous underwriting of the ETL training, helping us bring this tailored training event to judicatory staff at a fraction of its cost to participants.
UCC ETL Participants Will:
-
- learn about the essential work of transitional leadership – change theories, adaptive leadership, congregational life cycles, clarifying the leader’s and the congregation’s work, and the importance of conflict management
- deepen their own transitional leadership practice
- explore how transitional leadership is being done 1) in a wider set of situations (e.g., traditional interim managed pastoral vacancy, addressing sustainability issues, consideration of amalgamation or closure), 2) through a variety of leadership roles (e.g., bridge, interim, designated, settled), and 3) via an increasing number of delivery means (e.g., in person full-time or part-time, in person or virtual interim consultancy, coaching with clergy and lay leaders who are on site)
- together, expand our thinking about transitional leadership needs and how we might tend these in new ways
