Interim Position
8/6/2025
Trinity Episcopal Church, founded in 1822, is a warm and welcoming community in
historic Natchez, Mississippi. With an average Sunday attendance of 51, we blend
traditional Episcopal liturgy and music with a strong commitment to local outreach,
including active support for our food pantry and to ministering to area homeless. Our
dedicated nine-member Vestry and engaged lay leaders are eager to work
collaboratively with an interim minister to rebuild engagement and find a new path
forward for our church. We are a financially stable parish that is proud of our beautiful
historic facility and deep roots in the Natchez community.
We are seeking an interim minister with a pastoral heart, strong preaching and liturgical
skills, and proven experience in transitional leadership. Our primary goals for this
interim period are healing and reconciliation, a thorough assessment of our parish life,
and the clarification of our vision and mission as we prepare for our next settled rector.
We are committed to fostering growth and re-energizing our congregation, while also
addressing the challenge of attracting younger families and a more diverse
congregation into our vibrant community.
This is a unique opportunity for a gifted leader to guide a historic and faithful parish
through a significant season of discernment and renewal. We offer a competitive
compensation package, an office with a small, dedicated staff, and a rectory
conveniently located across the street. We aim to have an interim in place by spring
2026. We invite interested candidates to submit their application and explore how their
ministry gifts can help shape the next chapter of Trinity Episcopal Church.
